Free swim teacher training for parents and carers

The department of education is providing free swim teacher training for interested parents and carers from our school.

The course is fully funded and qualifies you to teach swimming with your local school, or Australia wide.

There are several things you will need to register for the training, including a current Woking with Children Check. Please check the requirements when registering.

There are a range of locations and dates available. Places are limited, so book your place today.

Submissions are now open for the 2026 Woods Street Youth Art Prize!

Open to artists aged 14 - 25 years who live, study, work, or have a connection to the western suburbs of Melbourne.

With over $2,500 worth of prizes to be won, submissions will be accepted across all artistic mediums, including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, film, installation and more.

• Friday 4 September 6pm to 8pm Opening Night and Awards

• Friday 4 September - Saturday 19 September Exhibition

• Saturday 19 September 2pm to 4pmArtist Talk and Closing Ceremony

• $400 People's Choice Award
