University Information Sessions

Throughout the term, our Year 12 students participated in information sessions with representatives from Western Sydney University and Macquarie University. These presentations provided valuable guidance on university pathways, course options, early entry programs, scholarships and the application process, helping students make informed decisions about their post-school plans.

UNSW Gateway Program

Students in Years 11 and 12 attended workshops presented by the University of New South Wales (UNSW). 

 

Year 11 students explored their personal strengths and values and how these relate to future study and career choices. 

 

Year 12 students received information about university pathways, the UNSW Gateway Admission Pathway and the opportunities available to students through Evans High School's Gateway partnership.

Year 8 Careers Workshop

Year 8 students participated in an engaging, hands-on careers workshop where they worked collaboratively to complete a range of practical activities. Throughout the session, students developed teamwork and problem-solving skills while exploring different occupations, managing money and making decisions in real-life career scenarios. The workshop encouraged students to begin thinking about the wide variety of career opportunities available to them.

Year 10 Start Your Future Program

Approximately 25 students participated in the Start Your Future program, attending TAFE one day each week to explore an industry of interest. 

 

Students selected from a variety of courses including Nursing, Real Estate, Hairdressing and Beauty, Early Childhood Education and Care, Automotive, Cyber Security and many more. 

 

The program gave students practical experience in their chosen field while providing valuable insight into potential career pathways and further study opportunities.

Greater Western Sydney Careers Expo – Penrith

A group of Year 10 students attended the Greater Western Sydney Careers Expo in Penrith. Students explored a wide range of career pathways and had the opportunity to speak with representatives from universities, TAFE, training organisations and employers. The expo provided valuable insights into future study options, apprenticeships, traineeships and employment opportunities.

Western Sydney Careers Expo – Homebush

More than 40 students from Years 10 to 12 attended the Western Sydney Careers Expo at Sydney Showground, Homebush. Students explored exhibits from universities, TAFE NSW, private colleges, industry organisations and employers, gaining valuable information about tertiary study, vocational education, apprenticeships, traineeships and a diverse range of career pathways. The event encouraged students to ask questions, gather resources and begin planning for their future careers.
