Mindfulness

We are so fortunate at SFX to have time after every recess and lunch for some reset time before we begin our lessons. After recess, we engage in Christian Meditation, where we open our hearts and listen to God. After lunch, we have Mindfulness time. We work in our special scrapbooks to centre and calm ourselves after a busy playtime. Some of our mindful activities this term have included creating identity shields, inventing new creatures, and focusing on positive qualities in people in our lives. It's a really lovely way to settle down before learning!

Education in Faith

This term, we have been studying the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, and how we see these in our community every day. One project asked us to select a special person in our lives, and talk about how they show the different Fruits (like love, goodness, and patience) every day. We are also making some fantastic posters on Canva, which you'll be able to see at our end of term Learning Show

Busy, Busy, Busy! - by Ms. Lisa

We have so many fantastic events and opportunities to engage with the school community coming up. Here are a few things to be aware of:

Student Progress Meetings: A big thank you to everyone who has a booked a time next week for a Student Progress Meeting. These are a great opportunity to just touch base about your child's learning, and check in as to what we have been working on at school. I always encourage students to attend these meetings, as they are the most important person when it comes to their learning! If you haven't booked a time yet, this can be done through Audiri.

Scienceworks Excursion: In the first week of Term 4, we will be heading out to Scienceworks to get pumped for our Term 4 Inquiry unit which is all about the magic of science! The permission form for this excursion is on Operoo. Please ensure this is completed before the end of this term.

Father's Day (or Father Figure's Day) Breakfast: There is already a page about this in the Newsletter this week, so I won't go over the details again. Suffice to say I'm excited to see everyone celebrating their special people on Thursday morning before school.

Book Week & Grandparent's Day: This is fast approaching, and we will be celebrating Book Week and all of our amazing Grandparents in Week 8.
