Principal's Message

Dear Families and Friends,

Congratulations to Michelle Fleming on her 20th musical anniversary production, "Newsies"! If you were lucky enough to see this brilliant production, I am sure you will join me in celebrating the incredible cast and crew. I am deeply grateful for the immense talent and dedication our staff and students poured into bringing this story to life over many months of rehearsals.

Our Reading Week Assembly was a wonderful success, with staff and students dressing up as characters from their favourite novels. I thoroughly enjoyed stepping into the role of the antagonist, Nurse Ratched, from Ken Kesey's "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". During the assembly, I encouraged students to pay close attention to the villains in literature—to study their motives, understand the systems they represent, and appreciate how they challenge the protagonist to grow.

This week, a group of our students and staff headed to Ti Tree Primary School for our annual FLECS program (Foster relationships, Lead and learn, Exchange ideas, develop greater Cultural awareness, and Serve others). This marks our fourth year spending a week at Ti Tree, bringing hands-on Science experiments and classroom activities that go above and beyond the school's day-to-day curriculum. Beyond being an amazing cultural exchange, many of our senior students are using this trip to count toward their Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards.

On Thursday, we held our annual Wellbeing and Space Out Festival, proudly sponsored by Yeperenye. Not only were we provided with plenty of fresh fruit for the day, but we also received vouchers to award to our most "chill" students who demonstrated the best relaxation techniques during the festival.

Important Upcoming Dates & End of Term Reminders:

• Years 7–11 Parent-Teacher Interviews: Next Monday and Tuesday. Clear communication between school and home is vital, and this is a fantastic opportunity to discuss your young person’s progress face-to-face.
• Learning Expo: Tuesday from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Please come along to see the wonderful displays of student work!
• Last Day of Term (Friday): We will host our first ever Colour Run!
• Early Dismissal: School finishes early for the holidays at 1:30 pm on the final day.
