Student Voice Council

 

 YEAR 7 and 8 VOLLEYBALL and TRIVIA TOURNAMENT

Organised by theStudent Voice Council, House Reform Committee, the recent Warrandyte High School House Morning was a fantastic celebration of teamwork, school spirit and friendly competition. Year 7 and 8 students came together to represent their House and battle it out across two exciting activities: a Volleyball Tournament and a Trivia Tournament.

Students arrived proudly dressed in their House colours, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere across the school. With House points up for grabs, students were eager to contribute to their team and help their House climb the leader board.

The Volleyball Tournament provided plenty of action, with students demonstrating their skills, communication and teamwork. Matches were filled with enthusiastic rallies, determined serves and plenty of encouragement from teammates and spectators. Whether students were experienced volleyball players or trying the sport for the first time, everyone had the opportunity to get involved and contribute to their House.

The Trivia Tournament brought a different kind of challenge. Teams had to put their knowledge and problem-solving skills to the test as they worked together to answer a range of questions. Students had to think quickly, communicate effectively and rely on one another to come up with the correct answers. The competitive spirit was certainly alive as teams celebrated correct answers and cheered each other on. 

Questions ranged widely from: “What is the largest land mammal?” to “How many members were in the Spice Girls?” 

While winning House points was an important part of the morning, the event was also about building connections and creating a strong sense of belonging. Students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, encouraged their peers and proudly represented their Houses throughout the activities.

Red House won the tournament with a total of 125 points, followed closely by Green, Yellow and Blue House respectively. 

A big thank you goes to all the staff and students who helped make the morning such a success. 

A massive thank you goes to School Captain: Zoe Whelan who leads the Student Voice Council, House Reform Committee. Under her leadership, the committee worked amazingly well and made the morning a total success. 

It was wonderful to see our Year 7 and 8 students getting involved, supporting one another and showing what House spirit is all about. We look forward to seeing the friendly rivalry continue at our next House event.

A huge thank you to all the students and staff who contributed to such a fantastic morning. Events like these are a wonderful opportunity to build friendships, strengthen House connections and create memorable moments together.

The House competition is well and truly underway and the race for House supremacy is getting exciting.
