ELC – Year 11 Art Exhibition
This week, students and staff have enjoyed visiting the ELC – Year 11 Art Exhibition in The Square. Having a professional gallery space within the College transforms the experience of viewing student work. Artworks created in classrooms and art rooms take on a new presence and significance when thoughtfully curated and displayed for an audience. For exhibiting students, seeing their work presented in this context provides an important sense of achievement and completes the creative process. The exhibition also offers our wider College community a unique opportunity to see the evolution of artistic learning from the earliest years through to Senior School Visual Art program, celebrating the growth in students’ confidence, technical skill, creativity and capacity to communicate ideas through art.

Community Update
A reminder that Contemporary springART is almost here! From Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August, we look forward to welcoming our Loreto community to this much-loved celebration of South Australian art, creativity and community. With more than 60 leading artists exhibiting, including Feature Artist, Sophie Hann and Feature Sculptor, Sian Watson, there is plenty to look forward to across the weekend. From our Opening Night Cocktail Party on Friday evening to artist events and panel discussion on Saturday, and the final day of the exhibition on Sunday, there is plenty to enjoy.
The Opening Night and raffle tickets are available now, and we would love and appreciate your support. Click here to purchase your Friday night and raffle tickets.

Leave a Legacy
The order for the new 8 has been placed. As we know, the task ahead is to raise the funds for it. On the night, we will be selling the 9 seats in the boat for $500 each. Get your name in the boat and leave a lasting legacy to Loreto Rowing.
Let's make this the biggest Loreto Quiz Night ever, have fun and raise the funds to make a material contribution to the new 8!
I look forward to seeing you all there.

Walking a Mile Together
This year, sisters Lilly and Olivia, both in Year 9, took part in Walk a Mile alongside their family. Walk a Mile in My Boots is an annual community fundraising and awareness event run by Hutt St Centre to support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in South Australia. The event was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, walk side by side and reflect on the importance of connection, inclusion and looking out for one another. Events like Walk a Mile remind us that small steps, taken together, can make a big difference.

Yearbook-2025: extra copies available for purchase till Monday 17 August
Our 2025 Yearbooks are nearing production, and this year we are pleased to offer families the opportunity to purchase additional copies, so that each sibling can have a keepsake of their own. Additional copies are available for $45 each. We aim to have the Yearbooks delivered by early September.
As always, each family will receive one complimentary Yearbook, which will be distributed to the youngest Loreto student in the family.
Extra copies can be purchased here: https://events.humanitix.com/yearbook-2025-extra-copy
PRC Reminder
Did you know there are only 3 weeks to go until the PRC closes for 2026? A reminder to fill in your forms and hand them to your teacher librarian ASAP, before Friday 4th September.
Write a Book in a Day (WABIAD)
Once again, Loreto College students are participating in Write a Book in a Day (WABIAD). Students are in teams raising money for a great cause, the Kids Cancer Project. On Friday 11 September, they will write and illustrate a book in one day! Last year we raised over $4,000 and we are hoping to match that in 2026. If your daughter or a friend asks you to sponsor them for WABIAD, the answer is yes!
Book Donations Needed!
If you have any good-quality teen or children's books or book sets you are willing to part with, the Mission Day Book Stall is seeking donations!
Please drop any donations to the Senior School Reception or the York Library. Thank you very much in anticipation!
