National Road Safety Week

From 17 to 24 May, schools and communities across Australia will take part in National Road Safety Week, which is celebrating its 27th year in 2026. This important week raises awareness about road safety and reminds us that every person on our roads matters.

At Footscray West Primary School, we will be supporting this initiative by celebrating Walk to School Day on Friday, 22 May 2026. Students are encouraged to walk, ride or scoot to school safely.

National Road Safety Week is a great opportunity to reinforce important safety habits such as wearing helmets, using pedestrian crossings, and staying alert around roads and driveways. We look forward to seeing our students making safe choices and helping to keep our community safe.
