Grade 5

š Reading
This fortnight, we have continued readingĀ Tom Appleby: Convict Boy and following Thomas's incredible journey to Australia. Students have enjoyed learning about the challenges he faced and discussing how life was very different during the convict era. We have also been making predictions, asking thoughtful questions, and using clues from the text to better understand the story.
āļø Writing
In Writing, students have continued creating information reports about why the British sent convicts to Australia. They have been organising their ideas into clear sections and using facts to support their explanations. It has been fantastic to see students becoming more confident researchers and informative writers.
š Maths
Our Maths focus has been all about angles. Students have been learning to identify different types of angles and use protractors to accurately measure the internal angles of a variety of shapes. They have enjoyed putting their measuring skills to the test through hands-on activities and problem-solving challenges.
