Grade 6

The Grade 6 students have made a fantastic start to Term 3 and have settled back into classroom routines with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

In Reading, students have begun exploring the novel Once by Morris Gleitzman. They have been developing their comprehension skills by analysing characters, making inferences, and discussing the historical context of the story.

During Writing, students have been researching Poland and using their findings to create detailed information reports. They have focused on organising information into clear sections, using appropriate text features, and writing factual, engaging paragraphs.

In Mathematics, our learning has centred on fractions. Students have been building their confidence in adding and subtracting mixed numerals, while also extending their geometry knowledge by investigating complementary and supplementary angles.

In Humanities, we have begun our new unit on the Australian Government. Students are learning about Australia's system of government, the three levels of government, and how decisions are made to support communities across the country.

It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and dedication our Grade 6 students have shown so far this term. We look forward to another exciting few weeks of learning and growth!
