Model UN Competition

On Wednesday night, a group of students from Years 9, 10, and 11 spent the evening at UWA competing against other PSA schools in the PSA Model UN Competition.

Representing different UN countries, each team debated resolutions on “The Question of Government Corruption” and “The Question of Electoral Interference”. Guided by Miss Mullahey, the boys spent a month preparing for the event where they collaborated with their groups and developed the arguments they would present on the night. Showcasing their public speaking and negotiating skills, the students were able to foreshadow what the world can expect from our future global citizens. This year we had four teams who participated, all demonstrating great enthusiasm and commitment to the competition.

Year 11 Politics and Law

On Thursday, 31 September 2023, the Year 11 Politics and Law students attended the annual State Schools' Constitutional Convention. They participated in workshops examining Australia’s referendum process through the lens of the upcoming vote to establish a constitutionally enshrined Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament. It was a unique opportunity for the students to hear from a panel of experts on the topic of Constitutional change; and work collaboratively to develop their own perspectives on the referendum process in Australia. Xavier Rawlings and Max Edwards took the opportunity to address the room and speak about important topics such as ‘access to justice’ and ‘focusing on the here and now'.
