Happy Father's Day

Strength of a Mountain

God took the strength of a mountain,

The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun,

The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,

The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages,

The power of the eagle's flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,

The faith of a mustard seed,

The patience of eternity,

The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,

When there was nothing more to add,

He knew His masterpiece was complete,

And so, He called it... Dad

To our very dear fathers and to those who have served as father figures in our lives and the lives of our children. I wish all fathers and father figures a very happy Father’s Day where I hope you feel loved and appreciated.

Year 5 and 6 Science

 Escape Room Challenge

This week in science the Year 5 and 6 students engaged in a hydrogen themed escape room challenge. In the escape room, students drew on their scientific knowledge from a range of different disciplines to solve a series of challenges in a fictional hydrogen production facility. The breaking news lesson focused on the development of green hydrogen as a zero-emissions alternative to fossil fuels. It supported students to read, interpret and respond to real-world science news to build their literacy skills and interest in science.

St Vincent de Paul Visit

This Thursday Year 5 students were lucky to have Hannah Taylor, Youth Engagement Coordinator for St Vincent De Paul WA, come to Trinity and introduce the students to who St Vinnie’s is, how it all began, what they are known for and how they help the people in our community. Students explored all types of support and assistance that St Vinnies can offer. They also learnt in depth about homelessness and the struggles others face. It was an eye-opening session where students not only began to appreciate the comfortable and safe upbringing they are privileged to have but also the need for empathy and kindness towards those in our community who are in tough times.

This was a great introduction to springboard our Christian Service focus for 2024. Stay tuned for great initiatives coming from Tear 5 to promote the St Vinnies service and help through fundraising, donations and awareness.
