NAIDOC Celebrations at Durnam Road School

On Tuesday, the Boorloo Boys from TC Aboriginal Dance and Didge Group embarked on a journey to Durham Road School, joining in their NAIDOC Celebrations. Durham Road School is renowned as Western Australia's most prominent Education Support School, catering to approximately 200 students with disabilities from Kindergarten to Year 13.

This annual visit to Durham Road holds immense significance as it allows us to commemorate NAIDOC together. Despite the confined space, the boys delivered an impressive performance, captivating the audience with a remarkable rendition of this year's NAIDOC dance.

Catholic Performing Arts

During the Friday evening, the Boorloo boys enthusiastically participated in the Catholic Performing Arts Dance competition held at the Spirit of the Arts. The students showcased their exceptional talents, garnering commendable feedback from the judges and enthralling the audience with their rendition of the 2023 NAIDOC Dance titled 'The Wave'.

Adorned in traditional attire and vibrant paint, the students immersed themselves in the performance. Notably, the didgeridoo skills of Oshay Riley and Jayden Cole shone brightly, earning praise from the judges. Witnessing the students share their culture at such a significant event was truly inspiring. A special acknowledgment extends to Ms. Paula Nicoletto for her invaluable assistance in ensuring the success of the performance.
