Join the Boombox Events Committee 🎤

We’re on the lookout for passionate young people with ideas, energy and creativity to help design and run events for local young people in Bayside.

 

The Boombox Events Committee works on some of the best gigs, dance parties and cultural events in the area. The crew has recently put together Soundcheck 2026 and the St Kilda Festival Youth Stage, just to name a couple.

 

Who: Young people aged 11 to 25 with a connection to Bayside

What: Plan and run events and activities throughout the year with the Boombox Events Committee

Commitment: Fortnightly meetings on Thursdays

Cost: Free

Bayside Youth Ambassadors – Recruitment Now Open for 2026 🗣️

Are you looking to grow your confidence, develop new leadership skills, and raise your voice on the issues that matter to young people in your community?

 

If you're excited to meet other young leaders, make new friends, and be part of a supportive and fun team, the Bayside Youth Ambassadors (BYA) program is for you.

 

BYA is a youth‑led leadership program for young people aged 11–25 who live, work, study or have a strong connection to Bayside.

 

As a member, you’ll collaborate on meaningful projects, share ideas that influence Council decisions, strengthen your communication and advocacy skills, and play a key role in shaping opportunities for young people in the community.

 

Meetings are held fortnightly on Tuesdays from 5pm to 6:30pm at Sandringham Library.

 

Expressions of Interest for the 2026 BYA Committee are now open and close Monday 16 March.

CONNECT - FREE Cooking Program 🧑‍🍳🍽️

If you're looking for a fun way to meet new people and learn new skills, Connect: Kitchen Edition is the program for you.

 

This term, participants have already completed their food safety training and whipped up some sweet treats, but there’s still time to join.

 

Term 1 sessions:

 

  • Thursday 12 March, 4:30pm to 6:30pm
  • Thursday 26 March, 4:30pm to 6:30pm

 

Where: Peterson Youth Centre, Highett

Who: Young people aged 13-25 who live, work, study or plan in Bayside.

 

This program is free to attend, registrations are essential.
