Friday Lunchtime Concerts
Last week, we had our first lunchtime concert of the year, where students from the Instrumental Music Program performed outside on the deck of the Activity Centre. We do this to showcase new pieces that students in the Instrumental Music Program have been working on, demonstrating dedication, talent and hard work. A big thanks to Skye, Jasmine, Xico, Isaiah, James, Raf, and Alex for their great performances on Friday!

These lunchtime concerts happen every second Friday, so if this is something you would be interested in doing at some point in the near future, please come and speak to me about it, or e-mail me or Miss Saunders.

VCE Art Making and Exhibiting
Our Unit 1 VCE Art Making and Exhibiting class is currently exploring the exciting world of sculpture and ceramics. After developing skills in drawing and painting, they are now working with clay and other materials to bring their ideas into three dimensions.
For example, Year 10 student Oskar Edwardes has been creating striking masks and faces using white clay. His work demonstrates a clear understanding of the medium and shows thoughtful expression.

Each student has the freedom to experiment and develop their own style, as long as the final piece fits within the sculpture or ceramics medium. Once completed, students write an analysis to reflect on their creative choices and the story behind their work.
This stage of the course has been a great opportunity to deepen the students' artistic skills and push their creativity in new directions. They are excited to keep experimenting and we are excited to see how their ideas evolve through these hands-on projects.

Photography Specialism Update - Year 9 & 10
The photography students kicked off the year with two exciting outings that put their camera skills into action. The Snapshot group spent the morning at the Long Hollow Heathland, exploring the neighbouring wetlands, natural textures and unique landscapes. Meanwhile, the Life Through the Lens group headed into the city, experimenting with portraiture, and Melbourne's architecture. Both groups discovered how a camera can capture sights, feelings and emotions, making an inspiring start to their photography journeys.
