We Are Learning Our Patterns! 

Our Prep students have been busy exploring the wonderful world of patterns. Patterns are important early maths and literacy skills, helping children to predict, sequence and recognise order in their environment. We have been learning that patterns are everywhere. 

In class, students have been creating and extending colour, shape, and letter patterns through hands-on activities using blocks, beads, craft materials and classroom objects. They have practised copying, continuing, and designing their own repeating patterns while explaining what comes next and why. Exploring patterns helps build early mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills, and early reading and writing development. We encourage you to look for and create simple patterns at home together.
