Religion in JLA
Our JLA students have been learning about different types of prayers and reflection in the Catholic tradition. We have been focusing on prayers of praise which are short, joy‑filled prayers that focuses on who God is, rather than asking for anything. It expresses wonder, gratitude and admiration for God’s goodness, love and creation. We have also been learning about prayers of petition. In these prayers, students ask God for help, guidance or support for themselves and others.
Here are some examples of our work:
We have also been exploring different types of prayers through creative prayer stations. These include Paper Chain Prayers, Mandala Prayers and Pope Francis’ Five‑Finger Prayer
Alongside these experiences, students are exploring the key stories about St Patrick and Holy Week, helping them understand the significance of this important time in our faith. The term will conclude with a Holy Week celebration, bringing together their learning, reflections and prayer experiences as a community.
