Principal's Message

Welcome back to Term 3. It has been wonderful to see our school community return with such energy and enthusiasm. The term has started strongly, with students settling quickly back into their routines and staff bringing fresh energy to the classroom. I want to thank our whole community - students, staff, and families - for helping make the start of term such a positive one.

Parent-Teacher Interviews took place last week, offering a valuable chance for families to connect with teachers, discuss student progress, and set goals for the remainder of the year. The partnership between home and school is key to supporting every student's success at Reservoir High School.

Course counselling sessions for students entering Year 10 and undertaking the VCE in 2027 have taken place over the last two weeks. This is an important opportunity for students and families to discuss subject selections, pathways, and future study or career options with our Careers Practioner and key staff at the school. Thank you to our parents for being such active participants in this process.

This term also brings a bittersweet moment for our school community, as we farewell Lea Volpe, our much-loved Assistant Principal. Lea has been an integral part of our school for many years, bringing warmth, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to everything she has done - from supporting students and staff through challenges, to championing initiatives that have shaped our school culture. Her contribution to our community has been immense, and she will be deeply missed by staff, students, and families alike. On behalf of the whole school community, I want to thank Lea for her outstanding service and wish her every happiness in this next chapter. 

The next few weeks of this term are just as event-filled. Students and staff are preparing for the Reservoir Police versus RHS Basketball event, which is going to be a true celebration of our community. This year’s production, Rock of Ages, is full of humour, heart, and show-stopping performances from our incredibly talented students. It takes place on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th of September. Our students have been working incredibly hard in rehearsals, and we can't wait to share their talent, energy, and passion with our school community. A huge thank-you to our director, choreographers, band, and stage crew for bringing this production to life.
