AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

🏀From the Court to the Fun Zone: 🌺🎳⛳
On Sunday, 30 November, 57 students, along with staff Mr Stuart, Mr Hager, Ms Legg, Mr Quick, Ms Iggy, and Ms Kift, departed from Melbourne for the Gold Coast to compete in the 2025 Australian School Championships, held from 30 November to 5 December.
After a short delay in Melbourne, everyone arrived safely, and spirits were high as the team looked forward to the Opening Ceremony at 3pm!
What an action-packed week it was for our basketball students and staff! Our six Lilydale High School teams hit the courts hard, celebrated some fantastic wins, learned from a few tough losses, and enjoyed countless standout plays along the way. The energy from our players, coaches, and cheer squads was absolutely amazing! 🤩
Off the court, the fun didn’t stop. Hawaiian Night 🌺, strike bowling 🎳, mini golf ⛳, an epic dress-up duo night, and trivia competitions gave everyone a chance to relax, connect, and make memories.
A huge highlight of the week came from our 9.1 Boys, who fought their way into the bronze medal match at the Gold Coast Sport and Leisure Centre. They left everything on the floor, going down to Centenary Heights State High School 44–65. The scoreboard didn’t tell the full story - their grit, teamwork, and heart made us incredibly proud. The future is bright… look out next year! 💪
A massive shout out to Mr Stuart and the staff – Mr Hager, Ms Legg, Mr Quick, Ms Iggy, and Ms Kift – for all the hard work, care, and energy they poured into making this trip unforgettable.
Well done to all our players and staff! 🙌
