🛠️ 🏭 Year 12 VM Students Dive into Manufacturing
On 28 November, during the Step Up Program, our 2026 VCE VM students took a deep dive into the world of manufacturing at Yarra Ranges Tech School. The program offered industry tours, hands-on practical experience with 2D and 3D design software, prototyping of design ideas, and insights into risk assessments.
Students also explored how to reimagine their future careers and develop entrepreneurial skills.
At the conclusion of the program, they pitched their final ideas, showcased their products, and learned valuable techniques for communicating effectively to an audience.
🍯🍓Year 12 Food Studies
During the Step Up Program, Ms Younger's Year 12 Food Studies class had their first practical session, where they explored modifying recipes for allergies and intolerances. The students got creative and made delicious yogurt cups - a tasty success!
🛠️🖌️Unit 2 VCE VM PDS – Community Project
What a fantastic way to wrap up their final assessment for the year! Our students took on the challenging task of revitalising the aging tables and chairs behind the PAC. It was truly a labour of love, and the results are impressive.
A huge congratulations to our students for their countless hours of scraping, sanding, and painting. Your hard work has truly paid off!
Well done, team, and best of luck next year in Units 3 & 4!
🎄🎅Live Theatre Learning: A Christmas Carol
On 3 December, our 2026 VCE Theatre Studies students, along with Drama students and staff Mr Bleakley, Ms Goode, and Ms McGrotty, attended a performance of A Christmas Carol at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne.
The excursion offered an engaging introduction to analysing live performance and will directly support students’ holiday homework, helping them develop the skills outlined in the VCE Theatre Studies Study Design.
Students also visited ACMI’s free exhibition, exploring costume design and the use of soundscapes to deepen their understanding of theatrical production elements.
It was a wonderful day of inspiration and learning! ✨
🧵👕 Design & Make Your Own Hoodie
During Semester 2, students in Ms Hovanjec’s Year 10 Textiles class got creative and hands-on, designing and producing their very own custom hoodies as part of their Learning Task 3 assessment.
These weren’t just any hoodies…
- 🔥 Secret compartments! Many students added hidden pockets inside the joey pouch - some even with zippers!
- 🎧 Perfect for storing ear pods, phones, rechargeable hand warmers, and all those must-have accessories.
Students chose their own fabrics, crafted hoods with stylish linings, created rolled hems, added overlocked seams, and finished their designs with ribbed cuffs and waistbands for a polished, professional look.
Congratulations to all our talented designers on your fabulous, creative, and totally unique hoodies!✨
📚 Final Library Lesson for 7G
7G English students enjoyed their final library lesson of the year with Ms Pierce! It was a wonderful way to wrap up a fantastic year of learning and reading. ✨
