SES Visiting

State Emergency Service (SES) Visiting Heatherwood School
Year 10 classes Monday 11th May
Dear Parents and Carers,
As part of our Year 10 students' current study of Active Volunteering, we are pleased to inform you that representatives from the State Emergency Service (SES) will be visiting the school on Monday 11th May for a special incursion.
During the visit, SES personnel will speak to students about the important role of emergency service volunteers in our community. They may also bring along vehicles and equipment to demonstrate, allowing students a hands-on opportunity to explore and learn.
Please note that sirens or other loud noises may be used during the demonstration. If your child may be sensitive to loud sounds, we kindly ask that you inform their teacher in advance. You may also wish to provide ear protection for your child on the day.
We are looking forward to an engaging and educational experience that will enhance our students’ understanding of community service and volunteering.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.
Warm regards,
Jo Larkin
Work Experience Coordinator & VET subject Active Volunteering teacher
