Message from Karlie Gooding

Acting Principal

Welcome back to another exciting term!

It has been wonderful to see students return with enthusiasm, settling quickly back into routines and reconnecting with their peers and teachers.

A highlight of the past week was our moving ANZAC Day ceremony assembly. We were honoured to be joined by Anthony Callinan, Co-President of Rotary Manningham City, who spoke thoughtfully about the significance of ANZAC Day and the importance of remembrance. Our students demonstrated great respect throughout the ceremony, reflecting on the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country. Our class representatives and student leaders presented with confidence and sincerity, and it was a powerful and moving experience for all involved.

Our School Captains and Vice Captains also had the privilege of attending the ANZAC City of Manningham School Service, where they represented our school with pride and maturity. As part of the ceremony, they laid a wreath on behalf of our community, showing deep respect and appreciation. Their conduct was exemplary and a true reflection of our school values.

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of some changes to our student leadership team. After careful consideration, Nau K has made the thoughtful decision to step down from his role as School Captain.

Moving forward, our student leaders will be:

  • School Captains: Hannah T and Ollie B
  • Vice School Captains: Emily H and Anthony B

We extend our appreciation to Nau K, along with all our School Captains, for their leadership and contributions throughout the term. We look forward to their continued involvement in supporting our school community.

You may be aware of ongoing industrial action by the Australian Education Union (AEU). This action relates to statewide negotiations and matters impacting the education sector. While we are working to minimise disruption to student learning, there may be some adjustments to programs or routines at times. We appreciate your understanding and support as staff continue to advocate for conditions that strengthen public education. We will communicate directly with families should any specific changes affect our school operations.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support. We are looking forward to a productive and rewarding term ahead.
