Hospitality

Functions are a fun part of Hospitality, as the students are required to complete a range of functions for their certificate.

The first function for the year was an Afternoon Tea for staff who are new to Heatherwood, together with our wonderful ES staff.

Students prepared the food and set up the room and the serving stations. Guests were given a friendly greeting at the door (Meet and Greet) and served a variety of tea, coffee or juice.

Nerves were quickly dispelled as the students moved around the room offering a range of savoury and sweet food while juggling both platter and serviettes and explaining what they were serving.

Rosie and Lynn were very impressed by the smooth running of the event, especially by the confidence the students showed in their interactions with their guests.

Our next function will involve table service for a luncheon as they practise a different set of skills for both front of house and back of house.
