ANZAC at Manningham

City of Manningham ANZAC School Service

Students from M5 and M6 recently had the privilege of working alongside our wonderful volunteer florist, Leanne Goodwin. For many years, Leanne has generously given her time to support Heatherwood students, guiding them in the creation of a beautiful floral wreath for our ANZAC commemorations.

Throughout the session, students deepened their understanding of native flora and the art of floral arrangement, learning the significance and symbolism behind each carefully chosen element. This experience provided a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with the spirit of remembrance. We sincerely value Leanne’s patience, expertise, and unwavering dedication to our school community.

The completed wreath was proudly presented at the City of Manningham Schools ANZAC Service, where schools from across the municipality gathered in honour and reflection. The service was a moving and memorable occasion, attended by hundreds of students, school bands, and members of the wider community.

Our School Captains, Olly, Hannah, Emily, and Anthony, represented Heatherwood School with dignity and pride, demonstrating outstanding respect as they honoured the courage and sacrifice of the ANZACs.
