KESAB Bin Materials Audit

KESAB Bin Materials Audit

A Bin Materials Audit (BMA) provides an engaging out-of-classroom learning experience, and establishes baseline data for sites to measure future success against.

On Thursday 26th March KESAB staff worked with small groups of year 3 and 4 students during the day to audit a days’ worth of bin materials from Greenwith Primary.

Students actively participated in sorting the rubbish into landfill and sorting the useful resources into organic, reusable and recyclable materials. The students involved reported back to their classes about their experience and together with all of the year 3/4 students, are embedding sustainable practices into their classrooms and the wider school environment.

An audit report will be provided with results and recommendations for actions to improve resource management along with a whole school Hidden Treasures incursion in week 1 term 2 to empower all students to understand why smart bin choices matter.
