From the Leadership Team

Dear GPS Community,

As term one of the 2026 school year draws to a close, I take the opportunity to extend my gratitude to all members of our special school community for helping to make the first term of the year so successful.

The highlight of my weeks is, without question wandering around the school and visiting classrooms. It is such a pleasure to visit our learning spaces and interact with our students to build and develop connections and to witness the fabulous learning taking place. I feel very lucky to lead our great school.

We have wonderful facilities here at GPS that complement and value add to the learning approaches of our staff. Having these facilities is important, although it is not nearly as important as the people that occupy these spaces. We are blessed at GPS to have the dedicated staff that each and every day give their best to ensure that learning opportunities for their students are valuable, engaging and relevant. I thank all of our wonderful staff and wish them all the very best for a well-deserved break at the end of the term.

Term 1 has also seen us launch the school’s Cultural Framework, a roadmap for 2026-2028. The framework stands on two key pillars:

  • Values: We are committed to Respect, Curiosity and Endeavour. These values underpin every action and interaction at our school.
  • Activation Strategy: Through proactive leadership, strategic partnerships, and ongoing community engagement, we will bring our vision and values to life in every classroom and beyond.

Our Activation Strategy has four key domains. In upcoming newsletters, I will provide a spotlight on each of the four domains. In this issue, we will unpack ‘Rich Pedagogical Practices and Learning Design.

Curious to learn more about our Cultural Framework and the values that shape our school community? We invite you to explore it using the link below:

Kind Regards,

Darren

Payments for incursions, excursions, camps and SAPSASA events

At Greenwith Primary School, we are committed to providing all students with rich and engaging learning opportunities, both within and beyond the classroom.

Participation in incursions, excursions, camps and SAPSASA events plays a vital role in extending student learning and experiences. To ensure these opportunities can proceed as planned, it is essential that all payments or payment arrangements are finalised by the stated due date.

Due dates are clearly outlined in the EdSmart consent form, with reminder emails sent in the lead-up. Please note that late payments cannot be accepted under any circumstances.

Careful consideration is given when setting due dates to balance providing families with sufficient notice and meeting strict booking and payment deadlines required by external providers. When deadlines are not met, there is a significant risk of cancellations or increased costs, which can impact all students and families involved.

We appreciate your cooperation in supporting the smooth organisation of these valuable learning experiences.

2026 Materials & Services Charge (School Fees)

Greenwith Primary School 2026 Materials and Services fees have been set at $375.00 per student as per the watermark notice approved by the Chief Executive Officer of the Department for Education (refer to Education Act section 106A).

The SA Government $200 rebate will apply again for 2025 with the credit being applied to each child’s invoice. Eligible School Card applicants are exempt from the rebate.

The school community was polled late 2025 and the outcome of the poll was successful, therefore the community did support to fully legally recover all of the school fees. The standard sum (compulsory to pay and legally recoverable) total of $375.00.

The standard sum minus the Government rebate will only leave $175.00 compulsory to pay.

Fees are required to be paid in full by April 10th, 2026 (End of Term 1) unless you have applied for School Card and are waiting on an outcome or have completed a Payment Plan

School Card scheme (assistance for low-income families)

The School Card scheme is administered by the Department for Education (DfE) and provides financial assistance towards the educational expenses incurred by families at government and non-government schools who meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility for School Card assistance is dependent upon the combined family income for the 2024/2025 financial year being within the School Card income limits. School card applications are lodged online. Information and applications can be found at www.sa.gov.au/education/schoolcard

If you have any questions, please get in touch with the School Card team on 1800 672 758. NOTE: A new application for School Card must be completed and lodged each year.
