School-wide Positive Behaviour Support
School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is an evidence-based framework that promotes a positive, safe and orderly learning environment. It supports students’ social, emotional and academic development, enabling every student to reach their full potential.
At Kambrya College, SWPBS builds upon our core values of Achievement, Compassion, Integrity and Respect, with each sub-school aligned with one of these values. The framework clearly identifies and explicitly teaches the behaviours that demonstrate these values across all areas of the College—from engaging positively in classroom learning to interacting respectfully with others and behaving appropriately in shared spaces.
Through consistent teaching, modelling and acknowledgement of positive behaviour, students are supported to incorporate the College values into their everyday actions.
The SWPBS framework promotes student wellbeing, engagement and academic success by establishing clear and consistent expectations across the College. It also aims to reduce the frequency and severity of behaviours that do not meet these expectations by ensuring students understand what positive behaviour looks like in different school settings.
Expected behaviours are outlined in the updated 2026 SWPBS Matrix, which is displayed in every classroom. Staff use the matrix to explicitly teach expectations, provide consistent reminders and acknowledge students who demonstrate the College values. A continued focus on classroom entry and exit routines further supports consistency across the school.
Kambrya College is proud to be recognised as a Silver Tier SWPBS school. We remain committed to strengthening and embedding the framework across the College as we work towards achieving Gold Tier recognition in 2026.
