Celebrating Leadership, Community and School Spirit

As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on some of the wonderful initiatives and opportunities that have taken place across our school community. It has been fantastic to see our students demonstrating leadership, creativity, school spirit and a genuine commitment to supporting others.

Retro Rewind – A Trip Back to the 90s!

Our House Leadership Team lead one of the term’s most exciting initiatives with Retro Rewind, taking staff and students on a nostalgic journey back to the 1990s. The school community embraced the theme, with students and staff dressing up in their favourite 90s-inspired attire. The event was filled with music, fun and plenty of friendly competition, including a lively game of musical chairs and lolly-guessing competitions. Most importantly, the initiative provided an opportunity for our school community to come together while raising money for Youth Off The Streets, supporting an important cause and demonstrating our students' commitment to making a positive contribution beyond our school.

A huge congratulations to our House Leadership Team for their creativity, organisation and enthusiasm in bringing Retro Rewind to life.

Father’s Day Breakfast – Year 10 Leadership in Action

Another wonderful initiative this term was our Father’s Day Breakfast, proudly hosted by our Year 10 students. The event attracted an amazing turnout, providing an opportunity for fathers, father figures, families, students and staff to come together and celebrate the important people who support our young people. Events such as this showcase the strength of our school community and the important role our students can play in creating meaningful experiences for others.

A special mention goes to Stephanie Sulaiman, Anna Youta, Alita Mubarak and Yok-Yok Ubonrat, whose efforts and contribution to the event are greatly appreciated. Their commitment, teamwork and willingness to take on responsibility were wonderful examples of student leadership.

Telling Our School Story

Our leadership students have also been involved in an exciting media project, providing them with an opportunity to showcase our school and highlight the great work taking place in our classrooms. Students have been involved in filming throughout the school, capturing learning experiences and activities that demonstrate what we do each day to support and engage our students.

This project has not only provided our leadership students with valuable experience in communication, media and collaboration, but has also allowed them to play an important role in telling our school’s story. We look forward to sharing the finished product with our wider community.
