Battery Blitz is back!
The City of Casey has announced the Battery Blitz program is back. Hillsmeade is taking part again. You can help us win a party by bringing in old and unused batteries from home.
Household batteries accepted: AAA, AA, C, D, 9V, 6V, andbutton cell sizes only.
Although the competition doesn't start until October we collect batteries all year so please start bringing them to school for our Marine Team to safely package and send off to be recycled.
When batteries go into our kerbside bins, they cause fires, they need to go in specialist drop-off points. Our school can be your drop off point so we can safely send them to be recycled.
As part of National Water Week (20-26th of October) there is currently a competition to create a Water Week poster. This years theme is 'Water Heroes: Save Every Drop' and the poster should represent that theme. The posters will be judged in different categories: Prep, Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6.
Entry conditions:
Primary School Prizes:
1st - $100 gift card, 2nd - $50 gift card, 3rd - $25 gift card
All participating schools will be entered into a random draw to win a $500 gift card towards a sustainability project at their school.
