ANZAC DAY

Wangaratta High School was honoured to be involved in a range of services in Wangaratta and Melbourne commemorating ANZAC Day and remembering those who fought for our freedom.

A moving service was held at the Wangaratta High School Performing Arts Centre on the eve of ANZAC Day led by Assistant Principal, Mr John Paola and Head Prefects, Swaye Frankland and Alison Jones. We were honoured to have in attendance representatives from the 2/24th Battalion Association, Janice Young and Karen O'Shea, Wangaratta RSL Liz Rouse Salmon, Vicki Bear and Megan Iskov, Wangaratta Councillor Ashlee Fitzpatrick and Helen Haines MP representative Alison Lloyd.

Throughout the assembly, we were reminded of the courage, sacrifice and resilience of those who served and continue to serve in times of war.

At the completion of the assembly, the Prefects, special guests, official party members and Year 7 students were invited to the school memorial on Edwards Street to lay the wreath along with a sprig of rosemary in commemoration of past students who sacrificed their lives for us.

ANZAC DAY - WANGARATTA & MELBOURNE

The 2025 Prefect team represented Wangaratta High School splendidly on ANZAC Day with one group proudly holding the 2/24th Battalion banner for the Wangaratta march, and another group travelling to Melbourne to participate in the parade there.
