English News
There are many exciting things happening in English this term. We have updated our display cabinet with artifacts representing the different books that we are studying. At Year 8 we are studying Robert Runs, a fast-paced thriller which weaves fact and fiction. It is based on the author’s great-great grandfather's experiences as a First Nation man growing up on a mission around the time of the Deebing Creek Massacre. We also have a display for A Walk in the Dark for Year 7, a rite-of-passage novel set in Victoria, and information about the films we study including Billy Elliot and Sunset Boulevard. Finally we have a large display for VCE Literature, one of the VCE Englishes, which outlines the vast array of fascinating texts that are studied including Frankenstein, A Streetcar named Desire and Throat.
We are also still running our debating teams and journalism club, so stay tuned for more junior news.
