Year 11 VCD: Sweet Treats Brand Identity

Students needed to create a brand identity for Sweet Treats Cafe.

Applying the design process the branding needed to:

  • be a unique and memorable visual identity that differentiates the shop from its competitors.
  • communicate the values of gourmet eating and Mornington beach culture.
  • establish a consistent and cohesive visual language across all branding, including digital and print media.
  • attract customers to the new cafe.
  • reflect the town's Art Nouveau history.

The final presentation was a style guide containing the logo, colour palette, typeface, and icon designs to help customers identify vegan, lactose free and gluten free menu items.

Year 7: Name in Perspective

Students were required to draw their first name using one-point perspective. Coloured pencils were used to tonally render the form. Gaining inspiration from examples of decorative patterns, students applied their own pattern to the front of the name.
