Senior School
Term 2 started with a bang as we attended the Greek Independence Day parade at Lakeside Stadium. It was a proud moment to see so many of our Senior School students involved in the drumming band, who played with immense pride and vigour. Additional to that, we had Senior School students leading our school as they carried flags at the front of our processional.
Term 2 is scheduled to be a long one and an opportunity for students to finish off their Unit 3 work while also providing an opportunity to put to test their knowledge in Year 10 and Unit 1 with their Midyear Examinations. Additional to the academic focus this term, many of our students will be participating in the ANZAC Day commemorational ceremony at Oakleigh RSL, while many others will be travelling interstate to represent Oakleigh Grammar at the National School Events in May.
It is certainly an exciting time as approximately 40 Senior students embark on their journey to complete against the 6 other nominated Archdiocese schools around Australia when they depart for Sydney in Week 4.
Our Year 11 cohort are supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation as they complete the Mother’s Day Classic on May 12 around the Tan Track of Melbourne. This is a long standing fundraising event that our Year 11 cohort have championed with the support of Pastoral staff.
To all those involved in the above events, congratulations on your participation and commitment of time to representing the school. Do yourselves proud and do Oakleigh Grammar proud.
