Honest

It's really hard to be honest.

To say:

'Hey, stop-'

'I don't really like-'

'I'm not in the mood right now.'

It's really, really hard.

Except when it looks like:

'Honestly, I think you're really cool.'

'Hey, I really like your earrings!'

'I want to spend time with you.'

Then, honesty can be sweet.

And easier.

Sometimes the first impression of a word, a phrase, an interaction is negative.

Sometimes it takes a little longer to find an honest, nice thing to say.

There's something really powerful in honesty.

Honestly, sometimes it's worth being honest about something.

Especially when it makes you feel better.

Especially when it makes someone else feel better, too.

BREAKING NEWS

"Have you heard?"

"Did you know?"

Whispers and trouble and hiding around corners, waiting to trip you up

CRASHES IN THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE

LOCH NESS MONSTER SPOTTED

LIZARD PEOPLE

What do you believe in?

Has your attention ever been caught by something outlandish?

UFOS IN AMERICA

ALIENS AT AREA 51

BIRDS ARE GOVERNMENT DRONES

GIRAFFES AREN'T REAL

These are all results in the search for understanding

The search for reasons

The search for whatever we think must be missing.

Why are we so obsessed with things that we cannot understand?

Why do we look for explanations in things that simply do not make sense?

Why do we create conspiracy theories, if not to indulge our imaginations?

Artist

Paint stained shirts

Ink stained fingers

Clay streaked hair

Art is entirely subjective.

An artist is anyone creative.

A person who can draw and shade and colour and create

A person who can write and read and edit and punctuate

A person who can mould and shape and scrape and whittle

They're all artists.

Art is an indulgence

Art is a rebellion

Art is revered.

Artists are powerful.

They are the real revolutionaries.

Do not underestimate the artists.

Do not write them off as simply 'dreamers'.
