Year 7 Students Ignited Their Literary Spark!

The LRC recently completed a collaboration session with our year 7 English students. Mrs. Ford spearheaded a series of library sessions packed to ignite the students' literary journeys.

Empowered by the LRC sessions, students transformed into library navigation pros. They unlocked the LRC’s full potential, learning how to search the vast catalogue, find the perfect book, borrow materials seamlessly, and even delve into a world of eBooks. These sessions equipped them with all the tools they need to conquer their literacy goals.

Bright Sparks, part of the AAS Academic Assessment Services, equips students with the skills they need to excel in their studies. The program helps identify students' literacy needs. Armed with this information, the LRC staff can then curate resources that cater to each student's learning style and ability. The AAS has recently been completed by all students.

New resources

The LRC is always evolving! We're constantly adding new fiction and updating our nonfiction collection, including eBooks. We're also expanding our variety which includes graphic novels, picture books, and young adult titles. This means there are more choices in different reading levels and genres like crime, humour, biography, relationships and more. We want to make sure there's something for everyone to enjoy!
