Challenges of Policing
Year 11 Legal Studies
Last week we had Senior Sargeant Luke Schroder speak to the Year 11 Legal Studies class about law enforcement. During the session, one student volunteered to be briefly ‘arrested’, to enable the class to better understand some of the powers and responsibilities of an officer.
The officer also explained the emotional and practical challenges of working with people from different backgrounds, especially in stressful circumstances. Students learned about communication, decision-making, and the need for integrity in policing. The experience was engaging and memorable, with some bizarre criminal stories shared.
