Principal's News

Dear Parents
At Oakleigh Grammar, we continue to place a strong emphasis on academic excellence. Our commitment to providing a rich and challenging learning environment is reflected in the dedication of both our students and staff. This term has been marked by a continued focus on the development of critical thinking, creative expression, and intellectual curiosity. We are proud to see our students excelling in their studies and maintaining the high standards that define Oakleigh Grammar. The support provided by our exceptional teaching staff ensures that each student receives the guidance and encouragement they need to reach their full potential.
Hall of Fame Induction
We look forward later this month to the induction of two of our Alumni into the Oakleigh Grammar Hall of Fame. These recipients have not only demonstrated exceptional achievements in their respective fields, but they also embody the values that Oakleigh Grammar strives to instill in all of our students. We are proud to honour their accomplishments and contributions to our school community.
NSE Event in Perth
This week, some of our senior students have represented Oakleigh Grammar in the National School Event (NSE) held in Perth and hosted by St Andrew’s Grammar. I have had the privilege of witnessing our students competing in a range of sporting events, Hellenic cultural activities, and a dinner where they have represented Oakleigh Grammar with pride and passion. This event is an opportunity for our students to engage with peers from other Greek Orthodox schools, fostering connections and a sense of unity across the country.
Federal Labour Pledge for Greek Culture and Language Centre
I am delighted to advise that the Federal Labor Party has pledged a $4.5 million investment to build a new Greek Culture and Language Centre. This pledge is a significant step forward in strengthening the cultural connection between our students and their Greek heritage. The new centre will further enhance our school’s commitment to providing a rich cultural education and will provide a space dedicated to preserving and promoting the Greek language and culture and will serve as a valuable resource for Oakleigh Grammar students, who will have access to its facilities during the school day.

I wish to thank Karen Chittenden, Bus Coordinator for her work with our families in this important role, who left last Friday and I extend a warm welcome to Mr Emad Abdelkaddous who has commenced in this position.
Best wishes are extended to Ms Vina Limosa, Assistant Accountant for all of her work in this role, who leaves Oakleigh Grammar today.
