PE

Prep-2
I am so excited to be back at ACPS after my maternity leave, teaching Prep, Grade 1 and Grade 2 PE. It has been lovely reconnecting with the Grade 1 and 2 students I already knew while also getting to know our Prep students over the past few weeks.
During the first week, our focus was on athletics in preparation for the Athletics Carnival, which took place on Tuesday this week. Students across all year levels displayed great enthusiasm as they learnt new skills and practised the correct techniques for modified discus, shot put and long jump. Although I wasn't able to attend the Athletics Carnival as I don't work on Tuesdays, I was so pleased to hear how well the students performed and how enthusiastically they participated in the day's events. I congratulate them all on giving their best and embracing the opportunities on offer.
This week, we practised a range of locomotor skills, including running, jumping and leaping, through games such as Pac-Man and Rob the Nest. A highlight of the sessions, however, was playing Cat and Mouse with the parachute, which was enjoyed by students across all year levels.
