Learning in Year 5

                  📚 Busy Times in Grade Five! 

We are so proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and perseverance our Grade Five students continue to demonstrate each day. With only one week left of the term, we are looking forward to finishing off our learning together and celebrating all the wonderful achievements from the past few months. 

In Writing, we have been focusing on information texts, exploring both natural wonders and human-made landmarks from around the world. Students have enjoyed researching fascinating topics and learning how to organise and present information clearly for their readers. This week, we have also begun our new Poetry unit and are excited to explore different styles of writing and techniques we can use to entertain our audience.

In Mathematics, students have completed a range of assessments, and we have been incredibly proud of the resilience and positive attitude they have shown throughout the process. This week, we have revisited fractions and decimals, and it has been wonderful to see the growth in students’ understanding and confidence.

Integrated Studies: Student’s have begun  preparing for their class plays based on significant moments in Australian history. Each Grade Five class has been assigned a different event from Australia’s historical timeline, and students are already showing great creativity and teamwork as they bring these moments to life.

In Reading, we are reaching the final chapters of our class novels. Students have enjoyed following the journeys of the characters and have been engaging in thoughtful discussions about the themes, events, and messages within the stories.

We wish all our Grade Five families a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break and hope everyone has the chance to rest, recharge, and spend quality time together. 🌟
