Victorian High Abilities Semester Masterclass Semester One

On Monday the 22nd of June, Taylors Lakes Secondary College celebrated the learning of our High Ability Students in conjunction with Victoria University Secondary College, Keilor Downs Secondary College and St Alban’s Secondary College.
Students gathered together to engage in fun learning challenges with a range of students from the 4 schools. Activities like Getting to Know You Bingo and Mathematics brain teasers formed some of the fun.
English students collaborated as they designed their concept of Utopia. The presentations at the end of the program were full of creative ideas that were also highly amusing and represented through plays and digital displays.
I would like to congratulate the students of Taylors Lakes Secondary College who helped to coordinate the day by welcoming the school buses as they arrived and supporting our visitors to feel comfortable and able to access our facilities.
They made a real effort to meet new people and share ideas which led to the formation of new friendships throughout the day.
The teachers of the 4 schools enjoyed planning and coordinating the day together which also serves as excellent professional learning for staff.
We are incredibly excited to hold the Semester Two Masterclass at the new Brimbank Tech Facility which will be run in combination with the Brimbank IT trained staff and our High Abilities Network.
