Careers News

As we come to the end of another busy and successful year at Scoresby Secondary College, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the achievements, opportunities, and significant milestones that have taken place in the careers space throughout 2025.

VET Excellence & Student Achievement

We are incredibly proud of our students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to their VET studies this year. Their achievements highlight the strength of vocational education and the career pathways it opens for young people.

Congratulations to the following students for their exceptional efforts:

  • Jack Harper, Excellence Award in Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation.  Jack has shown consistent dedication and high performance throughout the year, earning well-deserved recognition from the Mullum VET Cluster.
  • Savannah Ferguson, Achievement in VET Excellence for Certificate III in Creative Media. Savannah’s creativity, technical skill and strong work ethic have seen her excel in her program.
  • Sean Bernhard – Scoresby Secondary College VET Excellence Award.  Sean is a shining example of how vocational pathways can lead to meaningful, successful transitions beyond school. Sean started his VET Cert II in Automotive alongside the VCEVM, progressed into an SBAT (School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship) through the Head Start team and transferred across to the Cert III in Automotive. Sean has now moved directly into full-time employment as an apprentice mechanic with one of the major automotive dealers in our local area.

Sean’s journey shows how vocational learning, combined with real workplace experience, provides students with a powerful head start in their careers.

Year 12 Results

Congratulations to all our Year 12 students on successfully completing their final year of schooling and for the commitment you showed throughout your exams.

We are incredibly proud of the resilience, determination and maturity you have demonstrated in 2025.

As you receive your results, remember that your ATAR is only one part of your story, not the whole picture. There are many pathways to reach your goals, and success can come from a variety of directions, what matters most is finding the path that fits you

Trust your strengths, keep exploring your options and know that support is always available as you take your next steps from Career and Pathways here at Scoresby.

A reminder that:

  • First round tertiary offers will be released on Tuesday 23 December
  • Change of Preferences re-opens for any adjustments and then closes again in readiness for the 13 January 2026 offers.
