Performing Arts

Students across BPPS have continued their deep dive into music genres this term, building on their listening skills, musical vocabulary and confidence as young performers.
Our F to 2 students have been exploring the energetic world of Rock and Roll. They have been learning how different beats shape the feel of a song, experimenting with steady rhythms, strong accents and the driving patterns that make Rock and Roll so recognisable.
Meanwhile, our 3 to 6 students have begun dipping their toes into music theory. They are gaining a clearer understanding of time signatures, how beats are grouped, and how musicians use these patterns to organise and communicate musical ideas. This foundational knowledge helps students listen more deeply and perform with greater accuracy.
Across all year levels, students are discovering how music is built, how it moves, and how different genres express identity and creativity. It has been a lively and rewarding continuation of our Performing Arts inquiry.
