Crazy Hair Day raises funds for KIVA

On Monday 15 June, our JSC student leaders hosted a fantastic whole-school Crazy Hair Day to raise money for KIVA, an organisation that supports people around the world by providing access to loans that help individuals and families improve their lives and build brighter futures.
Students and staff arrived at school proudly displaying an incredible array of creative hairstyles. The highlight of the morning was the Crazy Hair Day parade at assembly, where each year level completed a ‘lap of honour’ around the gym so everyone could admire all of the amazing hair creations. We saw hairstyles inspired by cupcakes, swarms of bees, runners, ghosts, disco balls, two-minute noodle cups, doll heads, tropical islands, colourful wigs and towering hairdos, along with many other imaginative designs. The creativity and effort displayed by both students and staff were truly remarkable, making the task of selecting a prize winner from each grade extremely challenging.
A special thank you goes to our Education Support staff members, Gia and Jan, who contributed two prizes for every grade level. Gia showcased her exceptional cake-making talents by creating an assortment of beautifully decorated dot cakes, cake pops and cake discs, each accompanied by a small gift. Jan approached Kasr Sweets at Watergardens, who kindly donated delicious baklava sweets for our prize winners. She was also able to obtain some vouchers from Boost Juice to add to the baklava prizes.
Thanks to the generosity of our school community through gold coin donations, we raised a total of $175 for KIVA. Every dollar will help provide opportunities for people around the world to start businesses, support their families and work towards a better future.
It was wonderful to see so many members of our school community enthusiastically embrace the event and support such a worthwhile cause.
