Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week your child's mid-year report will be published for you on XUNO. This report details the progress your child/ren have made in the first six months of the year. Due to lasting and protected industrial action by the Australian Education Union and its members, most reports this semester will not have comments written by the teacher. They will however have graphics indicating student progress.

Please take time to look at the results prior to scheduling a parent-teacher interview with your child's teacher for week two of term three. We hope to see every family at these interviews as the discussion is just as important, if not more so, than the report itself.

Reflecting back as the term comes to a close, it has been, by any measure, a very busy term. We've had our whole school athletics day, the grade 3 and 4 camp, excursions to Sovereign Hill, the Melbourne Museum, Parliament House and the Melbourne Zoo, as well as our Groovin' with Dad disco, Education Week Expo, Enrolment Information Night, Crazy Hair Day, ANZAC Day and Fun with Mum. Phew, no wonder we need a rest after all that!

All of these events were done with the support and assistance of so many members of our wonderful community, so to all who assisted, took part, came along and enjoyed with their kids - thank you. These events mean so much to the students, and to share that with family and friends goes along way to making these memories that will last a lifetime.

A reminder that the term break starts this Friday with students dismissed at 2:30pm. TheirCare is available from this time for parents who need supervision for their children that afternoon, and vacation care for supervision over the holiday period.

Next term we welcome back Stephanie Sousa who has been on maternity leave.  It will be great to have her back, and no doubt she will bring that bubbly personality with her brightening everyone's day. I hope you can take the time to welcome her back also.

I will be taking some long service leave at the start of term three. In my absence, Kylie Kennedy will do an outstanding job as acting principal, supported by equally wonderful Learning Specialists and Leading Teachers. Have a great last week of term, and a happy and safe school holiday period.

Kind regards,
