Clyde North Campus News

As we come to the last week of Term 2, I would like to thank all staff and students at the Clyde North campus for their work and their care of each other. This past week has been busy with Year 10 and 11 examinations as well as the GAT. The new VCE Centre has been a hive of quiet activity and has provided a calm and settling space for students to complete this important assessment work.
Many Year 10 students also complete Work Experience and we hope they had a rewarding and valuable time learning about possible future workplaces. Thank you to the Robyn Cardamone for her organisation.
New Semester Eve was a busy day with all Year 9 students completing the Try a VET Day. Students worked through 10 workshops, showcasing the different VET subject options available to them, such as VET Hospitality to VET Dance and VET Electrotechnology. This will support Year 9 students in their subject selection for their senior years. A big thank you to Andrew Church and team for organising and running a fabulous program.
Year 8 students had a guest speaker from the Pat Cronin Foundation. The foundation does amazing work speaking about the impact of violence and the aim to end coward punches, which is what sadly killed 19yo Pat when he was out with friends in 2016. You can find more information here https://patcroninfoundation.org.au/ and we would encourage parents and guardians to continue these important conversations at home.
Year 11 students were privileged to hear from Sonya Karras https://wholenewworld.com.au/parents/. Sonya shared her safe partying tips in an engaging and helpful way, empowering young people to keep themselves and their friends safe.
We now look forward to St Peter’s Day on Tuesday 23rd June. A reminder that all students are expected to attend the whole day, as we celebrate Mass as a community and then the fun activities. Students can wear free dress with a gold coin donation, and we would remind students that clothing needs to be appropriate for Mass and the activities.
I hope all Clyde North students and families have a restful and enjoyable winter holidays and look forward to Term 3.
Mrs Karis Dalton
Deputy Principal - Head of Clyde North Campus
