Cranbourne Campus News

Despite the cold and Wintery conditions most Year 7’s and 20 courageous staff braved the conditions and embarked upon the Year 7 Camp Experience. Here are some of the student reflections.
Year 7 Camp Reflections
This Year 7 students went on camp to Alexandra Adventure Resort. It was an amazing experience to try new things along with meeting new students and teachers across the school. Out of all the activities my favourite was the giant swing because, you had the opportunity to challenge yourself and go upside down! I found this experience exhilarating because it added another level of thrill compared to our Primary School camp experiences. Students were challenged with a range of activities such as, high ropes, crate stacking, the giant flying fox (where you could also go upside down), rock climbing, low ropes, disc golf, volleyball, indoor Pilates, orienteering and an animal show.
On the first night, we watched a movie, The Lorax, which most of us had already seen, but it was so fun to share this experience with new friends. The second night, we had a talent show with many performances from some talented students and there were some fun prizes to be won. It was lovely to see everyone engaged and cheering on new and old friends, and even a few teachers.
I had lots of fun at camp and am sad I have to wait 2 years to have this experience again. This experience challenged me to work outside my comfort zone, to meet new people, try new experiences and most importantly helped me feel more comfortable as I begin my high school at St Peter's. I cannot wait for Year 9 Camp to make even more new friends and gain more lifelong experiences and memories I will cherish forever.

Camp was a fun and exciting experience, even though it was raining for some of the time. The best group at camp was the ‘Big Cheese’ group because we worked well together and had lots of fun. There were many activities to enjoy, including the Giant Swing, Crate Stacking, Gaga Ball, High Ropes, Zipline, Disc Golf, Pilates, Volleyball, and Archery. We hade to build our teamwork and got to make many new friends.
One of the highlights was the Talent Quest, where everyone got to show off their skills and talents. We also watched the movie The Lorax, which was entertaining and had a great message about protecting the environment and was also fun to watch before bed. Although the camp activities were amazing, the food was typical camp food and I could not wait for a home cooked meal. Overall, camp was a memorable experience filled with adventure, teamwork, and lots of fun.

When we got to the camp we had afternoon tea and we had cake and some fruit then we went on a walk they showed us all around the camp. When we finished the walk, we went to do our first and second activities, we did the high ropes and gaga ball. After the activities we got to find our bag and went to our cabins which was number 4 we had Mackinley, Sophie, Rishika and Vivien then once we finished finding our cabins, we had dinner. For dinner we had pasta. Later that night we watched the Lorax.
On the second day for breakfast, we had toast and pancakes. Then we started our next two activities. We did giant swing and flying fox. After that we had morning tea. Then we did another two activities. After that we had baked potatoes and some veggies and then we did another activity which was crate stacking.
Then after that we had cakes, fruit and cordial after we finished the food we went and did two more activities. We did beach volleyball and mat Pilates. We then had dinner and then we had a talent show and got to watch people sing and dance.
On the last day we had breakfast and then we had to clean up our cabins after that we had one more activity which was orienteering and then we got to go home.

TRY A VET DAY
On Tuesday, while our Year 12 students were completing their VCE General Achievement Test, our Year 9 students participated in a day focused on exploring the many hands-on learning opportunities available at St Peter’s College. These programs are designed to build practical, real-world skills that are often not offered in other schools, but are essential for students considering TAFE or trade pathways. In my role, I visit many schools across Victoria and regularly speak with leaders and teachers. More often than not, I am reminded of how fortunate our students are to have access to such a wide range of meaningful opportunities.
TRAFFIC INFORMATION
Please be aware that we are trialling restricting vehicle access through the front gates to staff and families between 8:30–9:50 am and 3:15–3:45 pm. During these peak times, many students are entering and exiting the campus, increasing the risk of accidental contact with vehicles or students slipping through the gates directly into traffic. Limiting vehicle access during these periods will help improve safety for everyone.
