Year 9 CLN Casey Tech Excursion
Our Year 9 students recently stepped out of the classroom and into the world of innovation during a three-day visit to Casey Tech School to engage in the Enterprise Program.
Focusing on Health and Human Performance, students worked collaboratively to investigate real industry challenges and develop creative solutions using technology and design thinking. Students experimented with greenscreens, coding and robotics to develop a series of prototypes that showcased their idea.
The workshop days culminated in a final expo, where students shared their ideas and prototypes, pitching their final solution.
The experience was an outstanding opportunity for students to develop future-ready skills, explore emerging technologies and gain a greater understanding of how innovation can improve the lives of others. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, creativity and professionalism our Year 9 students demonstrated throughout the program.
XSPAND Yr9 REC Fundraising
This past week, our Year 9 XSPAND REC students have been busy running fundraising activities in support of Caritas’ Global Crisis Appeals. As part of the project, students researched global issues, developed a marketing strategy, and designed an activity that was low-cost but high impact.
Throughout the week, the Year 9s hosted a variety of events, from a Mario Kart competition and mini golf to bake sales, raffles, and mini games, all in the name of a good cause. Thanks to their creativity, teamwork, and generosity, over $500 was raised for Caritas’ emergency appeals. This is an outstanding achievement that will make a real difference for those in need around the world.
