A huge congratulations to all 229 students who completed the GAT. This important test not only gave students valuable practice for their end-of-year examinations but also plays a key role in ensuring fairness by providing statistical moderation for internal assessments. Well done to all students for their effort and focus!
The Year 12 Formal is a special evening of celebration, bringing together students, staff, and invited guest to acknowledge the achievements and friendships formed throughout the year. It is a night filled with music, dancing, and memorable moments that our students will treasure for years to come.
It will be held on Friday, 8 August from 7pm-10pm at the Mercure Hotel Convention Centre. To help us finalise arrangements, please ensure your son submits his RSVP by Monday, 28 July. Your prompt response is greatly appreciated.
Tickets will be released early next week.
Students sat their Unit 1 examinations this week, marking a successful conclusion to their first semester of VCE. These exams served as a valuable culmination of their learning and will help students prepare for Year 12 examinations and School-Assessed Coursework (SACs) in the future. Results from these exams will be included in the End of Semester Reports, which are scheduled to be sent out on Friday of Week 1, Term 3.

Year 12 Trial Examination Period
The Year 12 Trial Examination Period will take place later from Monday, 15 September to Thursday, 18 September. These practice exams are a valuable opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with exam conditions and receive feedback before the final VCAA exams. The timetable for these will be posted at the beginning of Term 3.

Parent VTAC Information Evening
We are pleased to invite parents and students to a VTAC Information Evening on Tuesday, 12 August (Term 3, Week 4), starting at 6pm. This session will explain the university application process for 2026 and beyond. More details will be provided soon.
The Ballarat Careers and Futures Festival
Date: 28 July
Time: 5–7pm
Location: Ballarat Grammar School
All Victorian universities, education providers, and employment agencies will be present. This free event is highly recommended for students in Years 10–12 and replaces the annual SPC Careers Expo.
Australian Defence Force Visit
On 22 July, a representative from the Australian Defence Force will visit the College to discuss career and post-school opportunities with interested students. Please encourage your son to attend if he is considering a future with the ADF.
