Year 9 Social

Reports from the boys

We recently participated in the Year 9 Social for 2025 and it was a blast! We got to interact with the girls at Loreto as well as having fun with our mates at SPC. The dance lessons where challenging at first but with hard work it was a major success at the Social. The outfits at the social where amazing and so much effort went in to looking good for the Loreto girls on the night and the SPC boys were looking smart. We had an amazing DJ who played some awesome tunes throughout the night which was heaps of fun. A huge thank you to all the teachers who put their effort and time into the Social as well as to our amazing DJ and our dance instructor Eric.

On Wednesday night, Year 9 students from Loreto and St Pat’s participated in the Year 9 Social. Over the past four weeks, we have been participating in dance lessons learning formal dances such as barn dancing and the Pride of Erin. Last night, they got to showcase all that they had learnt at the Social. This was partnered with Sam's amazing DJ'ing to produce a great atmosphere for the students. There was lots of free style dancing, loud music and a very bright lights display. In short, it was a great night.

Year 10 Tomorrow Man

Next week, as we transition into Semester Two, our Year 10’s will have the second of their Tomorrow Man series on Tuesday, 1 July. The Tomorrow Man will be working through Module 2 of their program: The History of Masculinity.

The Tomorrow Man program aims to explore the impact of rigid masculine gender stereotypes and expectations and their impact on men across the country. The workshop sessions will invite our young men to share their views on what it means to be a man in 2025. These workshops provide a space to ask questions about what's working for the students and what's holding them back. Throughout the two-hour workshops, our young men will learn about various tools and skills to improve their emotional literacy. As a result of the workshop conversations, new connections are being made between one another as well as those they care about long after the workshop has finished.

The Tomorrow Program program follows on from our Year 10 Retreat, held on Wednesday, 11 June. Students participated in a variety of sessions covering important topics such as bullying, leadership, teamwork and wellbeing.

Flying Bookworm Theatre presented a range of real-life scenarios on bullying and cyber-bullying.
Jake Bridges from Leading Teams ran a series of activities encouraging teamwork and leadership.
