School For Student Leadership

Year 9

This term, we were thrilled to send Year 9 students, Max Graham, Elizabeth Robertson, Clark Sadler and Mihir Patel to take part in the School for Student Leadership at the Snowy River Campus.

The Snowy River Campus is located three hours away at the mouth of the Snowy River in Marlo, East Gippsland and provides Year 9 students with a unique, term-long residential leadership experience. Students step beyond their usual routines, living and learning alongside peers from other government schools across Victoria. The program is hands-on and team-based, designed to foster personal growth and leadership development.

Over the term, students take part in experiential learning activities that challenge them to build independence, resilience and confidence. They develop strong communication and teamwork skills while forming meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds. A highlight of the experience is the design and leadership of a Community Project, which they bring back to our school to apply their new skills in a purposeful way.

Our students are now nearly halfway through their journey and have shared some wonderful photos. We look forward to seeing what they learn and achieve through their Community Project, upon their return to Wantirna.
