Year 12 Careers and Pathways Interviews

Book through Compass

We’re pleased to share that our Year 12 Careers and Pathways Interviews have begun strongly this term. Appointment bookings are now open on Compass, and we encourage all students to secure a time.

As you begin navigating your final year of school, it’s important to start thinking ahead to what comes next. Whether you’re completing VCE, VCE VM Hybrid, or an SBAT, every Year 12 student is required to book a careers meeting us.

These personalised sessions are designed to help you explore your future direction.  Whether you’re considering University, TAFE, apprenticeships, traineeships, employment opportunities or other post‑school options. Our goal is to help you understand your choices, clarify your interests, and support you in taking positive steps toward your goals.

How Students Can Book a Meeting

Booking is easy: Simply log in to Compass Conferences and choose a time that fits your schedule. Please select an appointment during a study period, recess, or lunchtime.

These discussions are an important part of your Year 12 journey, and we’re here to support you throughout the entire process. If any questions come up, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

We look forward to meeting with you soon and continuing to support students and families as they plan their pathways beyond Year 12.

Year 12 Peer Mentoring Program

Swinburne are offering a selected number of interested Year 12 students a great Mentoring Program, where you get to have personalised one on one conversations to help you navigate Year 12 and discover pathways for future careers and study.

Year 12 students are paired with a Launch Now! mentor to explore their interests, learn about different career pathways, and build confidence in making informed study and career decisions through one-on-one mentoring conversations (both in-person and online).

What does the program look like?

The program includes six one-hour sessions across the school year, beginning with an in-person “kick-off” session at the school where mentors and mentees meet and schedule their first session:

  • Kick-off meet & greet (in-person, at the school)

  • First mentoring session (in-person, at the school)

  • 4 × online mentoring sessions (via MS Teams)

  • Final mentoring session (in-person, at the school)

Online sessions take place in a private channel within our secure Microsoft Teams environment, where mentor–mentee pairs can schedule meetings and share resources. You will also be added to this Teams space so conversations can be monitored by yourself, @Michelle and me. Further details about the Teams environment will be shared prior to the kick-off session.

How can students apply?

Students can apply by completing this application form, or by visiting the URL / scanning the QR code on the flyer. Pairings are based on shared interests, study areas, and mentor availability. We can support up to 10 students in 2026, and the program is open to current Year 12 students only.

We are delighted to share some wonderful news with our school community!

Maggie Zhang, Sven Luedtke, and Jericho Gojar have all proudly graduated from the Richmond Institute, completing both the Diploma of Sport and the Diploma of Leadership & Management. This outstanding accomplishment reflects their dedication, perseverance, and the hard work they have demonstrated throughout their studies.

These dual qualifications mark an important milestone in their personal and professional development. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved, especially as they balanced their academic, extracurricular, and personal commitments so successfully.

Please join us in congratulating Sven, Jericho, and Maggie on this fantastic achievement. We always love hearing about the successes of our past students and celebrating how far they have come, knowing that, along the way, we have played a small part in guiding and supporting them.
